My name is Peggy and my foster mom says I'm one of the sweetest, most family-friendly dogs she has ever fostered (which is a lot!). I'm 4 years old and a boxer/lab mix. I'm 100% house trained, walk great on a leash, and know a few basic commands. I do fine in a crate, buy my foster mom trusts me so much that she gives me free rein of the house - I even sleep on my foster brother's bed every night.
You may have noticed there's a lot of me to love, but we're working on getting my girlish figure back. The extra pounds could be because I'm a pretty chilled out dog and love, LOVE, to just lounge around. But don't get me wrong, I snap to attention when a dog toy is around! Stuffed toys and tennis balls don't stand a chance against me. Which is okay because my prized possession is my bone. I'm recovering from heartworms so my foster mom is keeping me very calm, but she thinks I would do well with long walks and energetic play.
I'm super smart - I know not to touch my foster brother's stuffed animals and toys and I pay very close attention to my humans to learn their routines and rhythms. I grew quite attached to them very quickly, and have been doing my best to make sure they're safe. I bark quite a bit when strangers come, and can be a little intimidating to those who don't know me, but once I realize visitors are friends, I go and get my bone and offer it as a welcome gift.
I'm so excited to find my forever home. I have so much to offer and just want a family to love. Please come and meet me and see if I'm the dog for you!
Peggy's foster mom did a DNA test on Peggy, which results came back as Boxer/Lab mix. Her estimated DOB is Oct 2013. Peggy has been spayed, microchipped, treated for heartworms and is up to date on vaccinations.

Our adoption fee is $300 and includes all age appropriate vaccines, spay or neuter and microchipping. The breed and age included in this listing is based upon the opinion of a vet that has examined the dog. We cannot confirm the age of the dog unless the dog was born in the care of the rescue. We are located in the metro Atlanta area. We currently do not allow out of state adoptions as a home check is required as part of the adoption process.
