This happy guy was pulled from a metro shelter with a high euthanization rate, and YLDR learned of him because he was a staff favorite. We can see why!
Odie is FLOURISHING in his foster home that he shares with 2 very young children, with whom he is wonderful. He is eager to learn the path of becoming a great housedog. His foster parents report very few housebreaking issues; however, they make sure he has frequent potty breaks. He is not crated when watchful eyes are present, but all it takes is a cookie to get him to go into his crate. Gets along very well with every dog he meets and has never shown aggression. Not cat-tested.
Odie has a happy heart and thinks everyone is his friend. Be prepared to be greeted with BIG tail wags and a soft, sweet expression. Odie is a “monkey see; monkey do” kind of dog - if he’s with active dogs, he is active and bouncy; with less-active dogs he is very chill (though always ready to play) and well-behaved. He will sleep bedside curled up in a tiny ball and doesn’t move unless he hears something. His foster parents love that he wakes up whenever they do; this is not a dog that will be asking to go out at 6am on a cold winter morning. Despite being a total sweetie, Odie is a good little watchdog! If he hears something unusual, he will bark and then check it out.
Odie rides well in the car, but is still learning to hop into a vehicle by himself. His foster family is also working on leash manners and basic obedience training. He responds well to verbal corrections and is oh-so-ready to be molded into a perfect pet.
We believe ODIE to be a LAB/TERRIER mix. His estimated DOB is 6/18/2018, and he weighs 54 pounds.

PRIVATE MEET & GREETS: Submitting an adoption application is required before a private meet & greet will be scheduled. We will complete a pre-screening first to make sure that the dog you are interested in is a good fit for you. That way, we don't unnecessarily waste your time or the foster's time.
Our adoption fee is $300 and includes all age appropriate vaccines, spay or neuter and microchipping. All of our rescue dogs are heart worm tested annually beginning at 9 months of age, and they are kept on monthly heart worm and flea preventatives.
The breed and age included in this listing is based upon the opinion of a vet that has examined the dog. We cannot confirm the age of the dog unless the dog was born in the care of the rescue.
We are located in the metro Atlanta area. We currently do not allow out of state adoptions as a home check is required as part of the adoption process.
