OPIE
- a playful, smart boy who has bursts of puppy energy and also calms nicely when it's time to relax or have a nap. Opie LOVES toys and keeps himself busy 'shopping' for toys and requesting the other dogs in his foster home play to with him.
Opie likes learning new things and showing off his skills. He recently completed a professional training program and learned: Heel, Sit, Down, Place, Stay, Wait, Leave-it, Come, and Drop-it. He is house-trained and crate-trained.
He would enjoy an active household, and deserves a family interested in continuing his training, with the understanding and patience for the antics that come with a silly, curious young dog. Other things Opie enjoys: sleeping on his back, chasing birds, collecting sticks, snuggling in blankets, and investigating new smells and sounds.
Opie has been around teenagers and does well. As a young dog, he can be excited when meeting new people and animals. We think he would be good with (older) kids if the adoptive family is willing to supervise and continue his training on manners.
He has not yet been cat tested.
We believe OPIE to be a BOXER/LAB mix. His estimated DOB is 5/7/2019, and he weighs 53 pounds as of 5/09/20.

PRIVATE MEET & GREETS: Submitting an adoption application is required before a private meet & greet will be scheduled. We will complete a pre-screening first to make sure that the dog you are interested in is a good fit for you. That way, we don't unnecessarily waste your time or the foster's time.
Our adoption fee is $300 and includes all age appropriate vaccines, spay or neuter and microchipping. All of our rescue dogs are heart worm tested annually beginning at 9 months of age, and they are kept on monthly heart worm and flea preventatives.
The breed and age included in this listing is based upon the opinion of a vet that has examined the dog. We cannot confirm the age of the dog unless the dog was born in the care of the rescue.
We are located in the metro Atlanta area. We currently do not allow out of state adoptions as a home check is required as part of the adoption process.
