Part of a bonded pair! AbbyLeigh and Lyric – BFFs; “two peas in a pod”; sisters from another mister.
Whatever you want to call them – these two are inseparable and would LOVE for someone to open up their heart and give them a forever home together.
When they first met, each was coming from separate, but very sad and neglectful circumstances. As a result, both were very untrusting of humans. But, they bonded with each other almost immediately and became fast friends – bringing out the best in the other’s personality and learning how to be normal puppy dogs again.
The rewards they would give their new family (person) would be countless – these two are such a delight to watch as they play and romp and snuggle and wrestle for attention on your lap.
If you’ve ever considered adopting two pups at one time, consider AbbyLeigh and Lyric. After all, they’re so small that getting both of them together would be like having one medium sized dog!
You can read a little about AbbyLeigh...(and Lyric's bio is under her Petfinder profile):
Hi, I’m AbbyLeigh. Because I have this adorable underbite, my foster Mom lovingly refers to me as Snaggletoof.
No one is quite sure what blend of puppy dog I am – I think I must have some whippet/greyhound in me and maybe a little Chihuahua. I weigh about 29 pounds – that’s what I call the perfectly sized pup. I have doe-like eyes, a white face and coloring that makes me look like a cheetah. (That fits because I can run like the wind) Whatever I am, everyone tells me I’m very pretty.
I’ve been hanging out with my foster family for about 4 months while I undergo and recover from heartworm treatment. But, I’m all better now and ready to find my happily-ever-after home.
My perfect forever home will need to understand that, although I have been in a loving home for several months, I’m still quite skittish, given the hard time I’ve had most of my life. I’ve come a long way in my foster home, but I’m going to need a dog-savvy family (or person) who understands that I need my space and that I will warm up to you on my own terms. Once I do, though, I am very sweet and I love to give kisses.
I am crate trained, and actually like spending quiet time in my crate, and potty-trained. I know sit and stay and I come when I’m called. And my Mom says that I’m the best leash-walker she’s ever had.
AbbyLeigh has an estimated DOB of July 2015, and is believe to be a Whippet mix. She is spayed, up to date on vaccinations and microchipped.
