Mr Rogers was rescued from a kill shelter, probably the product of a backyard breeder. This poor guy wasn't even sure what grass was when he first walked on it. Very sad. We believe poor Mr Rogers has been through alot....not that he can talk and let us know what has happened in his 4 years of life.
Mr. Rogers is very sweet, but has a hard time with change in environments, so he needs to have patience and understanding from a person who will give him time to become comfortable in his surroundings. He does not nip or bite, but he will shake in his crate until he feels comfortable with his new person and that they will not harm him. He does prefer females to males, as men scare him. He also would be best without small children, not that he would bite, but the high energy wouldn't suit him well and his timid personality.
Mr. Rogers does walk on leash well, is crate trained, and is working diligently on his house training. He is coming along nicely, but will use pee pads every now and then. Anyone wanting to adopt Mr. Rogers will need to know that patience is the key with him, and he will make a wonderful companion for someone who is settled and isn't always on the go, as he needs to feel safe and secure and not be bounced around from home to home.
Mr. Rogers is thought to be a Yorkie or Silky Terrier mix. He has an estimated DOB of August 2014, and he is neutered, microchipped and up to date on vaccinations.
