Hello! My name is DAX! My Foster Moms call me Dax-a-million because they know I am one in a million!

**In a Foster Home with Well-Behaved Children
I am said to be a mix of Chihuahua and Jack Russell, but in my eyes, I see a long-legged Chihuahua super model! At times I tend to overestimate my size, a mere 12 lbs. is a BIG stature for a dog, right?
I am told that I wasn’t treated so nicely or socialized much before a kind lady took me in and found me a foster home. I am can be skittish around strangers and usually take off running the other way when there are sudden movements made or if I hear loud noises. As I learn to trust, that will all get better.
Even though I can be “sassy” the F Moms say I am a little nervous nelly! I am afraid of fabric items and leashes… They say my short-term goals are to trust my peeps and to learn to love my collar & leash.
My F Moms say that despite the past I am a very happy boy, I wake up with my tail wagging and enjoy getting morning kisses on my forehead and yummies in a bowl. I get along well with children that have manners, nice cats, and other mature dogs (puppies are annoying)! At times I can be a bit food aggressive so I dine in my own space and don’t take kindly to intruders.
I know I can be loving, loyal, and entertainingly quirky! I am incredibly aware of my surroundings, which makes me a fantastic watch dog. I think I would do well in a home with no more than 2 other dogs, but I would LOVE to be your one and only fur-child! I am looking for a family with patience that will give me a little space so I can come around on my terms and share my true Chihuahua personality.
We believe DAX to be a Jack Russell/Chihuahua mix. His estimated DOB is 1/04/2014, and he weighs 12 pounds.

PRIVATE MEET & GREETS: Submitting an adoption application is required before a private meet & greet will be scheduled. We will complete a pre-screening first to make sure that the dog you are interested in is a good fit for you. That way, we don't unnecessarily waste your time or the foster's time.
Our adoption fee is $300 and includes all age appropriate vaccines, spay or neuter and microchipping. All of our rescue dogs are heart worm tested annually beginning at 9 months of age, and they are kept on monthly heart worm and flea preventatives.
The breed and age included in this listing is based upon the opinion of a vet that has examined the dog. We cannot confirm the age of the dog unless the dog was born in the care of the rescue.
We are located in the metro Atlanta area. We currently do not allow out of state adoptions as a home check is required as part of the adoption process.
