PLEASE read this BIOGRAPHY CAREFULLY. It will answer most of your questions including why Leesa Marie is a Foster or Foster-to-Adopt Dog.
*Crate Trained
*House Trained
*Good on Leash
*Good with Other Smaller, Nice Dogs
*Good with People of All Ages (including children)
Leesa Marie is a perfect medium-sized dog with some of best doggy ears out there. A great ‘pocket pittie’. She weighs 43 lbs, but that is a deceiving 43 lbs packed into a smaller framer – all muscle. She will make you smile and is very happy just to be in the company of her people! Leesa is crate trained, potty trained, and walks well on a leash. She sleeps quietly all night in her crate until her foster mom opens the door in the morning. Leesa is very attached to people and while she would do best as an only dog she will also do well with dogs the same size or smaller as long as introductions are done correctly. Leesa is very intelligent and knows sit. She is very food motivated and easily trainable. She takes treats from your hand gently, and she loves children.
LEESA MARIE is available to be your FOSTER DOG
or
you can adopt her through our FOSTER-TO-ADOPT program
What is FOSTER TO ADOPT, you ask? When a dog has not yet been altered (spayed or neutered) due to a medical treatment that is in process, but there is someone that wants to bring that dog into their family as an adopted family member, we approve the adopter as a FOSTER HOME, complete the medical treatment, spay, and then finalize the adoption.
This process allows LEESA MARIE to be placed with her forever family so there is no delay in the bonding process while You Lucky Dog Rescue remains responsible for the completion of the remaining vetting needs.
What is LEESA MARIE'S MEDICAL CONDITION? She is heart worm positive - very common with shelter dogs as in most cases their former humans just didn't care enough to provide them with monthly heart worm preventative. Like any parasite, medical treatment will take care of those nasty worms, but it is a process. As soon as her treatment is completed, and she is spayed. We can finalize your adoption of LEESA MARIE.
She will need a nurturing family to care for her during treatment as her activity level will need to be restricted during that time. So, Leesa will do best in a home where she is the only dog or where you will diligently keep her separated from active play until treatment is completed.
If you Foster only or Foster-To-Adopt LEESA MARIE, you will be fully supported by our volunteers that have been through the heart worm treatment process with other dogs. And, as mentioned we cover the expense of treatment! 100%.
LEESA MARIE has an estimated DOB of 3/29/18 and is believed to be Bulldog/American Staffordshire mix. She weighed 43 pounds as of 3.31.20
