Say hello to MAX FRIED (Freed), a 15 pound, Shih Tzu Mix that is a total delight.
He was surrendered to a shelter because he chased their chickens. If you have chickens, this cute guy is not for you.
His last name is spelled, F-R-I-E-D, but not as in fried chicken. He's named after Atlanta Braves pitcher, Max Fried. And, like the human Max Fried, this guy is athletic. He can leap and jump with the best of them.
*Great w/Other Nice Dogs
*Bonds with people quickly
*Can Squeeze through an open slat fence - and he will do so to get to his people
*Loves to Cuddle
*Loves to Play with other dogs, but knows how to go to zen mode
*Can become possessive of his favorite human
*Shelter Volunteers said he's good w/cats, but we need to test further
*Foster Parent doesn't think he's ever walked w/leash, and they are working on that. Loves to run around in a fenced yard for exercise.
His foster has not yet had him around children. He's probably going to do great, but due to his small size, we are recommending him for a home with older children only who will respect him. We could also see him in a home without children, but another nice dog to play with would be ideal for Max.
When Max came into rescue, he had dental disease. With a good dental cleaning, his whites are pearly. And although he needed multiple extractions, he still has enough teeth to eat his food with zest, but wet food or softened kibble is recommended. He will also need regular grooming to keep him comfortable. He may have some seasonal grass allergies as his paws can become itchy after being outside on the grass.
We believe Max to be a Shih Tzu/Terrier mix. His estimated DOB is 6/25/2015, and he weighs 15 pounds.
