Boone is a very happy boy! He loves being near his humans with bouncy energy outside and easily relaxing as a couch potato inside. He has settled in to his foster home very quickly learning the routine and picking up house-training, crate-training, and using the doggie door under supervision.
In his free time, Boone likes to chew on sticks, chase butterflies, play with toys, and make blanket nests to cuddle in.
Boone is adjusting to life outside of a shelter and has exhibited some nervous behaviors when left alone. His foster parents are slowly teaching him that the crate is a nice place to be! He currently enjoys eating breakfast, chewing on toys, and listening to meditation music in his crate during the day while the humans are away at work. He is getting more comfortable with the crate on a daily basis.
Boone is quite excited to meet new dogs. He tends to be a little over stimulated at first, but calms down to play well with others and listens to the cues when the older grumpy dogs in his foster home no longer want to play. Boone is easily redirected with treats, and he listens well for commands even when there are distractions.
He needs some more work on leash skills and meeting new people nicely without jumping up. His foster parents are working with him on these things, but he might be best suited with kids older than 10, simply due to his exuberance and size. Although, if you have the time and patience to teach him, Boone could easily learn respectful behaviors around younger children.
Boone is himself a youngster looking for a family to teach him the ways of the world - he is eager to please and has a contagious silly attitude! His one-ear-up and one-ear-down style is adorable.uff ball with an equally adorable personality to match.
We believe Boone to be a Black Mouth Cur Mix. His estimated DOB is 7/2018, and he weighs 52.5 pounds as of 7/13/19.
